Continuation of Time
Twitter Scribble
What is the “Continuation of Time” process you ask? It is the process by which this community writes the most amazing endless collaborative story to ever exist. Here is how this process works.
DAY0 + 1 and DAY0 - 1 Process
How do story submissions work (after DAY0)?
Each day there will be an silent auction to submit your story for the next days in the row (2 slots each day). To place a bid, users need to submit their story of continuation of the current story line, either into the past, or future.
- The bid can be whatever the participant chooses with a min. of 0.001Eth
- Only the top X (100?) highest bids will make it to be voted on
- Not allowing free submissions solves two issues:
—> Avoid BS submissions
—> Ensure there will not be too many submissions to be voted on in a 12h period
- Over time, the minimum price to bid will go up, based on the overall popularity of the community. This will help to offset declining distributions to the individuals in a growing community (since the more members there are in the DAO, the % per member that will be distributed declines). (To be discussed in the DAO once established)
Cost to Bid:
- Every submission has a % of the bid “the cost” that gets deducted regardless of whether the submission wins the vote to get included or not. This cost will help to fund the treasury as well as ensuring high quality submissions
Process of Submismions:
Each submission should cover not more than one day in the story line. They can be simple (e.g. “When he woke up, he was so exhausted that he just moved to the couch and watched TV all day”), or infinitely complex. As long as the story does not go beyond one day (24h). The reasoning for this is to keep the review process manageable. It would be impossible to review hundreds of submissions in a 12h window with them all spanning multiple chapters.
- Submit your story for either the next day in the future, the previous day in the past (or both)
- Place your highest bid in the silent auction
- The DAO will only see the submissions with the 100 highest bids.
- That submission which wins the vote for that day will own that Days NFT(s)
- There is a submission period and a voting period (12h each)
—>Bids are hidden from during the vote
- The proceeds of each winning bid on the two NFTs will be distributed as follows
—> 10% to timewriter creators
—> 40% into treasury
—> 50% Voting DAO members
- With this mechanism, NFT holders will receive a distribution of future NFT sale proceeds
Tie breaker
- If the DAO votes for two stories with the same # of votes, then the story with the higher bid wins -> if they have the same bid, then the time of submission decides
